Jo Knowles has a young adult novel coming out soon. She is a lovely, talented writer who I met on LiveJournal.

Debbi Michiko Florence —Debbi has some great interviews with authors on her site.

Sarah Dessen —I read Sarah’s blog everyday. She loves TV like I love TV, especially shows like Project Runway and Grey’s Anatomy. Oh, and I almost forgot, she’s an amazing YA writer.

NON-FICTION authors:

Heather Tomasello —Heather is a friend and a talented writer. Her books on science fair projects are fantastic!

Evelyn Christensen — a really fun site with puzzles kids can do on-line! While you're there, check out all the fantastic books Evelyn has published!

If you are a writer for kids and/or teens, these are my favorite sites:

Verla Kay —a great website with a message board where you can ask questions and look up response times for agents and editors.

Write4Kids —Jon has numerous resources for children’s writers and a message board as well.

SCBWI.org —The Society for Childrens Books Writers and Illustrators. It does cost money to join, but I have found membership valuable, as you have access to numerous conferences as well as an informative monthly newsletter.

The Purple Crayon —Harold Underdown is a children's book editor and his site has a ton of information. I especially love the information he gives every month about who’s moving where in the children’s publishing world.

Robin Friedman has put a bunch of interviews with editors on her site, which can be really helpful when you are researching editors.

Institute of Children’s Literature —I have not taken the courses they offer, but they have a ton of helpful articles related to writing for children.
